New Account Setup Checklist
The Getting Started checklist helps you prepare the essentials before sending email with Mailix. Track progress and open unfinished tasks directly from the Dashboard.
What is the Getting Started checklist for?
The checklist has four steps:
- Create your first email list.
- Add subscribers to the list.
- Send your first campaign.
- Set up email sending.
Each step has a description, estimated time, and action button. Mailix marks a step complete when the account meets its corresponding condition.
Where does the checklist appear?
After signing in, select Home (Trang chủ) in the left navigation. The Getting Started checklist appears below the Dashboard welcome area.
The checklist remains visible while at least one step is incomplete. It disappears after all four steps are complete.
The four setup steps
Step 1: Create your first email list
A list stores and manages subscribers.
Select Create List (Tạo danh sách). Mailix opens the new-list form so you can enter the required information.
This step is marked complete when the account has at least one list.
Creating a list also depends on your permissions and the list limit of your plan.
The checklist shows an estimated time of ~1 minute.
Step 2: Add subscribers to a list
After creating a list, select Add subscribers to a list, then select Import Contacts (Import liên hệ).
When the account already has a list, Import Contacts opens the import page for the first list. From there, you can import a file, paste data, or add subscribers using the available options.
When the account has no list, Import Contacts takes you only to Lists. Create a list first, then return to this step.
This step is marked complete when the account has at least one subscriber.
Adding subscribers also depends on your plan's subscriber limit.
The checklist shows an estimated time of ~3 minutes.
Step 3: Send your first campaign
Select Create Campaign (Tạo chiến dịch) to open the campaign creation screen.
Continue by configuring recipients, content, and the other information required by the campaign workflow.
The checklist marks this step complete when the account has at least one campaign. The campaign does not need to finish sending before the check mark appears.
Creating a campaign also depends on your permissions and the campaign limit of your plan.
The checklist shows an estimated time of ~5 minutes.
Step 4: Set up email sending
This step checks whether the account has an email-sending method.
If the active plan already provides a configured sending method, the step is marked complete automatically. You do not need to add a separate server.
If the account needs its own sending server and your plan and permissions allow it, select Add Server (Thêm máy chủ) to open the sending-server type selector.
This step is complete when either:
- the account has at least one active sending server; or
- the active plan has a configured integrated sending method.
The checklist shows an estimated time of ~2 minutes.
If you cannot open the add-server screen, check the plan and account permissions. Not every plan lets customers add a sending server.
Track progress
The top of the checklist shows completed steps out of four, for example 2 / 4 completed. The progress bar changes with the completion percentage.
The checklist selects the first incomplete step and shows its details automatically. You can select another step to view its description and action button.
Selecting a step changes only the details shown. Select the action button in those details to open the screen where you perform the task.
When a step is complete:
- it has a check-mark icon;
- its estimated time is hidden;
- the details show Completed; and
- View replaces the original action button and opens the related area.
The labels Completed and View are currently displayed in English in the interface.
When all four steps are complete, the checklist disappears from the Dashboard.
What order should I follow?
The checklist displays steps in this order:
- Create a list.
- Add subscribers.
- Create the first campaign.
- Check or configure an email-sending method.
Step 3 is marked complete as soon as the account has a campaign. Before actually sending it, make sure Set up email sending is also complete.
If the plan already includes an integrated sending method, step 4 may already be complete and you only need to perform the other three tasks.
When a step cannot be completed
No list yet
Complete Create your first email list first. Without a list, Import Contacts only opens Lists.
No subscribers yet
Select Import Contacts after creating a list. The step is complete only when the account has at least one subscriber.
No campaign yet
Select Create Campaign and start the creation workflow. The checklist checks whether the account has a campaign; it does not require the campaign to finish sending.
No sending method yet
Check the plan first. It may provide a sending method or allow you to add a separate sending server. If the action button cannot open the screen, the account may not have permission to add a server.
The subscriber step is still incomplete after importing
Wait for the import to finish, then reopen the Dashboard. If the numbers have not changed, select Refresh dashboard data (Làm mới dữ liệu bảng điều khiển) and check again later.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the checklist not visible?
It is hidden when all four steps are complete. If you have not completed them but cannot see the checklist, check Home (Trang chủ) again.
Why did the sending setup step complete automatically?
The active plan may have supplied a sending method that is already configured for the account. In that case, you do not need to add a separate server.
Why has the checklist not changed after I created a campaign?
Reopen the Dashboard so the system can evaluate the new state. The step is complete when the account has at least one campaign; the campaign does not need to finish sending.
Why does Import Contacts take me to Lists?
This happens when the account has no list. Create a list first. Once a list exists, Import Contacts opens the import page for the first list.
When does the checklist disappear?
It disappears when all four conditions are met: the account has a list, a subscriber, a campaign, and a suitable sending method.
