Email sending setup overview
The Sending area brings together settings that help Mailix transfer email through a sending service, authenticate sender identities, track engagement, and exclude addresses that should not receive messages.
Open the sending setup area
In the navigation bar, open the Sending group. Depending on your plan, permissions, and account configuration, you may see some of the following items:
| Item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sending servers | Connect an SMTP or API service used to transfer email |
| Sending Domains | Authenticate domains and the DNS records used for sending |
| Verified senders | Confirm the name and address that appear in the sender field |
| Tracking domains | Use a custom domain for links and tracking activity |
| Email Verification | Connect a service that evaluates whether addresses can receive email |
| Blacklist | Block specific addresses from future sends |
| Signatures | Save reusable signature content |
How do these parts relate to one another?
A sending server provides the method for transferring email. A Sending Domain or verified sender identifies an identity that is allowed to be used. Campaigns and emails in Automations send through an available method on the account; open and click tracking creates data only when the corresponding tracking type is enabled.
A tracking domain does not replace a Sending Domain. An email verification server is not a sending server either: this service only checks addresses in a List.
Minimum requirements for sending
Before sending, check that:
- The account has at least one active sending method. This method may be provided by the plan or added by you.
- The sender identity meets the requirements of the plan and sending method.
- Recipients are eligible to receive email and are not on the blocklist.
- The account and server still have sending quota available.
- The email content has been saved and is complete.
Not every account needs to configure its own SMTP service. If the plan provides a managed sending server, Mailix can use that method.
A status does not guarantee inbox placement
An Active or Verified status, or a successful connection test, confirms only part of the configuration. A provider accepting an email does not guarantee that the email will reach the inbox.
