Connect a Form to a Website

The link tells Mailix which Website will load the Form. Each Form selects one Website; one Website can load multiple published Forms.

Before connecting

You need:

  • an added Website with Connected status;
  • a saved Form;
  • permission to edit the Form.

If there is no Website yet, open Websites and finish adding the connection code first.

Open the Website connection area

  1. Go to Forms.
  2. Open the Form in the designer.
  3. Select Integrate with Website on the simulated address bar. If the Form is already linked, select Edit.

Select a Website

Select a Website from the list, then select Connect.

Connect a Form to a Website — editor The list displays only Websites with Connected status. Linking the Form does not create separate embed code; the Form uses the Website's shared connection code.

If you select another Website, it replaces the old link. A Form cannot be linked to multiple Websites at the same time.

Install the connection code on the Website

Open Websites, select the corresponding Website, and copy the Tracking code. Paste the code before the closing </body> tag on pages where the popup should appear.

You need only one connection code for each Website. When a page loads, this code fetches all Forms that are linked and published.

Forms currently provide no verified separate inline HTML snippet, fixed iframe, or dedicated WordPress/Elementor integration. The verified display method is a popup loaded through the Website connection code.

Publish and test the Form

  1. Save the content and select Save settings.
  2. Select Publish.
  3. Reopen the Website or reload the page.
  4. Perform the selected display condition.

Selecting Open on Website in the designer only opens the Website URL. The button does not guarantee that the popup appears immediately if the Form is unpublished or its display condition has not occurred.

Multiple Forms on the same Website

One Website can be linked to multiple Forms. Each Form retains its own display condition. If multiple Forms are set to display immediately, they may all load when the page opens; coordinate their conditions to avoid competing popups.

Forms set to First visit only use a marker in the browser. When multiple Forms use this option, the Form displayed first may prevent another from appearing in the same browser.

Reopen the connection area and select Disconnect. This action removes only the Form's link to the Website:

  • Form content is retained;
  • publication status does not change automatically;
  • saved Subscribers are not deleted;
  • other Forms on the Website are unaffected.

The Website page must reload to stop using the Form configuration it received earlier.

When a Form is unpublished or deleted

  • Unpublish: the connection code does not add the Form on new page loads, but the Website link is retained.
  • Delete Form: the Form and its custom content no longer exist; the connection code omits the Form on new page loads.

A page that loaded the popup before the change may retain that version until it reloads.

When the Website is disconnected or deleted

Important: Disconnecting a Website does not remove the pasted code. If the code remains on the Website, the next page load may automatically mark the Website as Connected again.

Deleting the Website makes its old connection code stop working. The Form retains the old reference but appears to have no available Website; if you add the Website again, you must relink each Form to the new Website.

When the Form does not appear

Check that:

  • the Form has been saved and published;
  • the Form is linked to the correct Website;
  • the Website has Connected status;
  • the connection code has been pasted and the page reloaded;
  • the display condition has occurred;
  • for click-based display, the entered element or selector exists on the page.
