View the open and click map

The maps report open or click events that have valid coordinates. Locations are inferred from network addresses, not GPS locations.

Open a map

  1. Go to Campaigns and open the Campaign you want to view.
  2. In the report navigation bar, open Open map or Click map in the map group.

Open map

The Open map page displays geolocated open points, total opens, the number of countries/regions, and prominent locations. The activity table may display the Subscriber, region, network address, and time.

Total opens aggregates unique opens; markers are created only from events with coordinates, so the two numbers may differ.

Click map

Click map uses click events with valid coordinates. A marker may link to the Subscriber, region, clicked URL, and time. Total clicks is the total number of click events, so one person may appear multiple times.

From Open log or Click log, select the network address or location in a row to open the corresponding map and highlight the relevant marker.

Location data limitations

Note: VPNs, corporate networks, proxy servers, and privacy protection mechanisms may cause the estimated location to differ from the actual location. Events without valid coordinates do not appear on the map, but they are not removed from the log.

The map reflects the available data for the entire Campaign and does not have a separate date-range filter on the map page.

When there is no data

Check whether the Campaign has open or click events and valid location information. If there are no coordinates, view Open log or Click log to inspect the detailed data.
