Set up a tracking domain
A tracking domain lets an account use a custom domain in tracking URLs. This domain is different from a Sending Domain and does not verify sender addresses.
Add a tracking domain
- Go to Sending → Tracking domains.
- Select Add domain.
- Select
http://orhttps://, then enter the domain and port if needed. - Select Save.
Mailix takes you to the verification screen.
Connect and verify
The instructions depend on the system configuration:
- Your account may be asked to create an A or CNAME record pointing to the value displayed by Mailix.
- Alternatively, your account may be asked to download a connection package, upload it to the domain's website, and complete the displayed server steps.
Follow the method shown on the screen exactly, then select Check now. The status changes from Unverified to Verified when the check succeeds.
When is a tracking domain used?
When click tracking is enabled, Mailix can route links through the selected tracking domain before directing readers to the destination page. Open and click tracking must still be enabled in the corresponding email or Campaign to produce report data.
Having a tracking domain does not automatically enable tracking and does not replace a Sending Domain.
Edit a domain
You can change the protocol, name, or port. After you save, the status returns to Unverified, and you must check it again.
Delete a tracking domain
Important: Before deleting, check which Campaigns have selected this domain. Deleting it may make saved tracking configurations unavailable for future sends.
In the Tracking domains list, open the menu, select Delete, and confirm. This action cannot be undone in the interface.
When the feature is not visible
Tracking domains depend on plan availability and quantity limits. If the item does not appear or you cannot create another domain, check your plan and account permissions.
